According to the B.B.C. all students are going to have at least five hours of culture a week, it’s interesting to see the type of culture they are promoting. Do you think high culture will be accepted by the masses of K.H.C.T.C?

Some interesting comments from the Archbishop of Canterbury have sparked a controversial debate. The Archbishop has suggested that Islamic Sharia law is now unavoidable in some parts of the United Kingdom, and would help social cohesion in our multicultural society. Is this a case of an ethnic minority influencing the dominant culture? Or a counter culture providing a threat to the dominant culture? An interesting quote from the Archbishop
He says Muslims should not have to choose between “the stark alternatives of cultural loyalty or state loyalty“.
Some strong reactions on the B.B.C. comments page. There is also a little irony here, the Archbishop is representative of the dominant culture of the country, but is advocating a change that some view will weaken it.
