The Wrong Trainers?

By Tony_Cassidy

We often think of the United Kingdom as being a rich country, where anyone lives a comfortable life; but poverty is relative concept, where some people struggle for a decent meal each day in the Developing World, living in overcrowded conditions in the Developed World could be judged as poverty. Sadly, despite the wealth of our country, youngsters in the United Kingdom do experience poverty when compared to the rest of us. I came across the NewsRound site ‘Wrong Trainers’ whilst catching up with the day’s news, it is a set of pages about child poverty in the United Kingdom. There are a number of flash animations told from the perspective of children. It was really interesting to watch and listen to Chantel’s and Keona’s story about their ’space’ and how it is  influence by poverty.

Good spot Tony. Had noticed this too, and will be using it on Tuesday. We are going to produce our own videos of feelings for our place and try to win a Norfolk Video Award (well, someone has to…)
